Why do we work on cultural studies?

Man is a cultural creature. Its ideal entities, social institutions, and concepts turn it into a macrostructure and a superstructure that builds macrostructures. Culture, that is, man’s non-physical existence is the only thing that makes him immortal. This superstructure is an agglomeration that each individual benefits from and contributes, albeit minimally. This accumulation is experienced first and then given meaning. In other words, it’s inexplicable, it’s practically lived, and then it’s analyzed. This is more of a problem of meaning, of humanity. What we will do is to record and process what is reflected to us in the area under our responsibility.

Contributing to culture is a contribution to humanity. So why national culture? Because the culture developed nationally. How a family evolves around a surname, around an ancestor; culture also develops around a nation and its language. Nation is as natural a group as family. Why Turkish culture? Because this is our primary group to which we belong as producers. We are not talking about the superiority of Turkish culture because we say that it is our side and we resort to this path as a necessity of knowing ourselves.

On the other hand, feeling like a separate nation, just as we feel like separate egos, is one of the manifestations and surplus values of this universe. This new experience is one of the reasons for our existence and is one of the services we can offer to superstructures and ideal spiritual beings. Playing the games of nationality, culture, humanity and ego is one of the ways to create an interesting narrative, to participate in the story and to be in touch with it. That is, our biological existence is ordinary, it is found elsewhere; but the personality and culture we create is the part of life that we need as an outcome.

Just as simply combining the camera, light, microphone and actors does not create a viewing pleasure, for people, the pleasure of watching cannot occur without narratives such as nationality, culture and ideal. Cultural studies are essential in striving for an ideal, creating a goal, a plot. Why are we dealing with culture? If asked, the answer is that we do humanities. As a group of humanists who contribute in the fields of philosophy, language and culture, we owe it to carry out cultural studies by taking our own culture as a reference.

Everyone is a cultural worker. Everyone contributes to the culture in some way. Scientific studies, on the other hand, are carried out by people who have focused their consciousness on this subject and who want to get to know people. After getting to know them, They can set the course for ideal good. What we do is a more concentrated and specialized form of what everyone else does.
